Parkinson's Disease
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital for Northern Virginia develops an individualized therapy program to meet the needs of patients with Parkinson’s disease. Through therapy, patients can achieve functional gains, become more independent and learn how to reduce the risk of future medical problems. A customized plan is developed to meet each patient’s specific needs.

Our Parkinson’s disease rehabilitation program goals include:
- Facilitate optimal gains in self-care, mobility, nutrition, communication, cognition, socialization and general wellness
- Manage the disease through proper use of medications
- Integrate fall prevention and mobility strategies to maximize safe mobility
- Facilitate successful transition to home and community while providing appropriate support services
- Provide patient and family Parkinson’s disease education
- Increase muscle strength and flexibility
