Our interdisciplinary team approach to care allows us to treat a wide variety of medical conditions. We meet with our patients about their treatment and provide family support, education and training about what is happening to you or your family member.

Visiting Hours
We strongly encourage family participation in the rehabilitation process. A patient's family is an integral part of their rehabilitation and a critical member of the rehabilitation team.
Family members are always welcome to attend therapy sessions. Our staff also provides ongoing education to help family members understand their loved one's diagnosis, promote their continued recovery and prepare them for return to the community.
Hospital visiting hours are daily from 12 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Outpatient Therapy Services
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia offers comprehensive outpatient therapy services at our hospital.
Many HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia patients are advanced to our outpatient treatments after their stay in our hospital. But, outpatient rehabilitation treatments are available for wide variety of conditions for people of all ages and can assist any resident of northern Virginia to reach maximum ability and independence.
The outpatient rehabilitation team at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia works to develop an individualized treatment plan to your needs and goals. Your first visit will include a comprehensive evaluation with a licensed physical or occupational therapist who will establish a treatment plan with you and your physician that is customized to your specific needs.

We want to measure your progress
HealthSouth utilizes the Uniform Data System for Medical Rehabilitation (UDSMR), the rehabilitation industry’s most widely recognized outcomes measurement tool, to monitor how much our patients improve during treatment at HealthSouth. This system measures the effectiveness of our hospitals’ rehabilitation programs by evaluating and tracking a patient’s functional status upon admission, discharge and post-discharge to document the level of disability and to assess the effectiveness of rehabilitation. UDS also allows HealthSouth to benchmark its rehabilitation hospitals against regional and national performance data.
Payment
Rehabilitation is covered in full or part by most health insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. The hospital has contracts with most major insurance companies and is willing to negotiate with other companies as needed.
HealthSouth will bill Medicare or your insurance company. You will receive a bill for any amount you owe. Your case manager can assist you with insurance benefit questions.
Translators/sign interpreters/special needs
Translation services as well as special aids for communication and safety are available. During a patient’s referral and stay, family members are encouraged to notify us if they or a patient require translation services, sign language or modifications for decreased hearing, vision, speech or other special needs.
