HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia’s cardiac care program is designed to help patients reduce the risk of future heart problems by helping them understand heart disease and how to develop a healthy lifestyle. The rehabilitation program is based on guidelines from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), which have been reviewed and endorsed by the American Heart Association.
The program goal is to teach patients to conserve energy, control risk factors, and recognize warning signs so they can safely return to an active life at home and in the community. We have an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, therapists, dieticians and more who customize the program to meet the complex needs of the patients.
